Thanks for visiting! Enfield Dry Dock is a privately run business on the River Lea.
We are fully booked for blacking services until the middle of the year now. We will be opening the bookings for the second part of 2024 on Tuesday 12th March 2024. Customers are recommended to phone Paddy after 8am that morning to secure a place – first come first served.*

What services do you provide?
Boat blacking, repairs, fabrication and surveys – it’s best to email us if you need specific work done
Can I do my own work in the dock?
Yes – customers are welcome to undertake their own ‘DIY’ work or to employ someone else to do it on their behalf (We require insurance details from any professional traders sub-hired to work in the dock)
What are the prices?
- Docking Fee £225 + VAT
- Days in the dock £90 + VAT per day
- Ballistic Blacking paint £42 + VAT per tin
- Pressure washer hire £40 + VAT per week
- Anodes £67 + VAT each (including fitting)
- Labour (if you want us to paint your boat) £180 + VAT per day
- Labour for welding, fabrication and repairs £40 + VAT per hour
We can also sell you scraper blades (we’ll lend you the scraper), paint rollers and prushes
Can I paint my base plate?
No
Do you do surveys?
Yes, Alan Broomfield is based at the dock and undertakes surveys on Sunday – the fee is £225 + VAT for the docking plus £12 per foot for a full survey – so if you have a 40′ boat the fee would be £480 for the survey.
If you just want a hull survey it’s a flat rate of £350
If you want to book an alternative surveyor while you’re in the dock for other work that is also fine.
